The Colorado environment poses some challenges for babies. When Dante was first born, he was on oxygen for a couple of weeks, and that’s apparently not uncommon for infants born at our altitude. Something else that can make a baby’s life tough is our climate, which is very dry. Dante’s skin has been dry and patchy for a couple of months now, which feels sad. A baby’s skin is supposed to be soft, not rough!
We’re trying a few things to take care of the problem — lotion, hydration, and so forth — and it helps, but doesn’t make his skin as soft as it used to be. Maybe once winter is over and there’s a little more moisture in the air we’ll get our soft baby back.
